Experience a Tree Crop Farm: Global Forest-Wild Flavors-Rich Diversity
This one and half hour walking tour led by Kenneth Asmus will give you a chance to visit and learn about a tree crop forest of edible food plants and important timber trees including perennial food and forage plants.
It is a chance to learn directly from someone who turned a field into a forest.
Depending on the time of the year you will have a chance to taste many species of fruits.
You will be provided with a bag for taking a few samples home as well as keeping the seeds you harvest with your fruit. This availability changes with the year and crop yields.
Wear sturdy footwear. Bring water to hydrate and rinse your mouth should you find some fruits too sour or astringent. Afterwards tea and/or coffee will be provided in the barn when we finish.
Plan for two hours from beginning to end. Limited to 10 people per tour.
